Oil
for Pomba Gira
A real twist on the divine feminine, Pomba Gira is
very different from the "nicer" feminine spirits Europeans are more
familiar with, like Mary or even Mary Magdalene. She is also
different from more strongly death-connected feminine entities like
Lilith or Hekate, who are colder, although like the latter,
Pomba Gira is childless. Even though like them she is associated with
crossroads and cemeteries, she is a "hot" spirit, ambivalent and
unpredictable, exhibiting a type of sexuality that can be a
double-bladed sword. She can be dangerous to work with but is often
petitioned by her devotees for asisstance in matters of love, whether
that be drawing someone, breaking up lovers, or instigating betrayals.
She is helpful for those who need a last chance and is partial to
people of the street, transgressors and outlaws in general, be
they gender or otherwise. Some of the scented items associated with her
are roses, anisette, and honey, and for that reason we've composed this
oil of rose, star anise, pink pepper, pomegranate fruit (she loves
red), honey, and tobacco with a touch of cognac. It smells delicious!
