 Oil for Persephone
After numerous customer requests we have crafted an Oil for Persephone that aims to capture the essence of this goddess's journey from fragile innocence to grounded resilience, blending both light and dark fragrances to honor her complex nature. Inspired by the flowers Persephone was picking when Hades abducted her to the Underworld, this oil features two varieties of precious narcissus absolute (jonquil and poeticus), alongside rose, iris, and violet leaf—floral and green scents that reflect her youthful innocence.
These delicate notes rest on a deeper, earthy base of opoponax, myrrh, and torchwood, ingredients traditionally associated with the Underworld. Additionally, warm notes of cognac, honey, and labdanum add a sensuous dimension, symbolizing Persephone's transformation from victim to powerful queen. The result is a rich, complex, and mysterious perfume that bridges light and dark, honoring Persephone's role as a goddess of both worlds.
